When a gallery is THIS pretty how in the world is a photographer supposed to pick "just a few" favorites for a blog post? Yeah, not possible! Actually, I had the same "problem" (and I use that term loosely here) when I was editing the gallery. I'm known for turning out crazy large galleries because I love all the images so much. But this one was a record breaker. Far and away the largest portrait gallery I've turned out yet. Because I LOVE them all!
What's funny about that is that this is not at all where or how this session was planned. Since it has been so nasty and smoky around Redding we had planned to head North to one of my favorite hidden spots. But half way there a blanket of smoke thicker than the afternoon coastal fog rolled in and I just knew it wasn't going to work out. So I pulled off the interstate and called Aimee and Brandon. She was definitely disappointed we weren't going to be able to go there. But thankfully they trusted me when I suggested that we turn back and head East out of town towards Lassen.
Until a couple of years ago I used to live up in that area and I'm very familiar with all the good spots to shoot. So I chose one of my favorite hidden locations and we spent about two hours exploring and having a good time.
